New Species & Colors for Spring 2008
KENTWOOD has added three beautiful new styles of solid flooring to the collection, just in time for spring redecorating!
North American Red Oak Caribou and North American Red Oak Annapolis are two new entries in our solid hardwood selection. These are classic 3 1/2’’ (90mm) solid strip hardwood floors milled from genuine Red Oak, one of North America’s most popular hardwoods, brought beautifully up to date with these contemporary design-friendly colors.
For a more rustic look, there’s Southern Acacia Rosario. This wide plank solid wood floor combines an exotic new species, a gently sculpted surface and a warm, rosy coloring into a truly beautiful and unique floor style!

Merbau Blackrock Now Available in Solid
One of KENTWOOD’s most popular engineered floor styles is now available in solid hardwood, in a choice of board widths. Merbau Blackrock is milled from solid A-grade Merbau hardwood and given a dark dramatic stain for a super sophisticated effect. (See a stunning installation of Merbau Blackrock in our online gallery.) Available in two standard board widths, 3 1/2’’ (90mm) and 4 3/4’’ (120mm) wide plank. For nail down installation only, on or above grade.
Merbau Blackrock is also available in its original engineered wide plank format too!
Doussie Now Available in THE KENTWOOD COLLECTION
Doussie (pronounced doo-see-yay) is an exotic hardwood that combines superior hardness and strength with beautiful natural coloring and elegant grain patterns. This combination makes Doussie a very popular species for all kinds of woodworking applications, from furniture to flooring. This beautiful wood species is now available in THE KENTWOOD COLLECTION, in two styles of popular and versatile engineered strip flooring: Doussie Natural (in high quality Manor grade) and Doussie Jasper, which has a delicate red stain that evokes exotics like Sapele and Jatoba.
These engineered strip floors may be installed on, above or below grade with nail down or glue down installation. These products are also approved for use over radiant heat when installed according to KENTWOOD’s
Special Instructions for Installations Over Radiant Heat, available in the Literature section of the site.

Two New Wide Plank Options
THE KENTWOOD COLLECTION has introduced two beautiful new wide plank engineered options: Oak Jade Lake and American Cherry Elite.
Oak Jade Lake features a wear layer of high grade oak stained a delicate and design-friendly shade of brown. Click here to view.

New: Hand-Scraped Hickory Pecan ’Copper City’
What a winning combination! A classic American hardwood, authentic hand-scraping and one of KENTWOOD’S most popular colors all come together in Hickory Pecan Copper City, the latest addition to KENTWOOD’S Hand-Scraped collection. The rustic character of hickory pecan lends itself perfectly to the distressed wide plank styling and the popular Copper City color beautifully enhances the wood’s natural tones. This engineered flooring may be installed on, above or below grade with nail down, glue down or floating installation.
Tigerwood Now Available in Two Sizes
One of the most popular of exotic hardwoods, Tigerwood has a unique and noble appearance, with its naturally striped appearance and rich coloring. THE KENTWOOD COLLECTION now offers Tigerwood in two standard board widths, 3 1/2’’ (90mm) strip, and 4 3/4’’ (120mm) wide plank. These solid wood floors are for nail down installation only, on or above grade.
Three Unique New Looks

Oak Chuckanut is a wide plank engineered floor with a rustically roughed-up surface, with saw cuts, gouges and other distressed effects. Click here to view.
Maple Whitehorn has a uniquely worn and weathered appearance, with patches of natural wood showing through the whitewash-style stain. Click here to view.
Maple Redondo has a gently antiqued surface and a gorgeous rich red coloring, dramatically enhanced by the contrasting ’french bleed’ effect on the board bevel. Click here to view.

Introducing KENTWOOD Brushed Oak
The latest addition to THE KENTWOOD COLLECTION is a stunning combination of contemporary style and old-fashioned comfort. These luxurious wide plank engineered floors have a 4mm wear layer of real oak, which is given a light wire brushing. This opens up the grain of the wood, accenting its character and adding a subtle texture to the surface. A super-low lustre finish further enhances the rich visual effect.
KENTWOOD Brushed Oak is available in a choice of Natural and six designer colors ranging from the delicate to the dramatic. The boards are 7 1/2’’ (189mm) wide and approximately 6’ (1830mm) long. These floors can be installed on, above or below grade with glue down, nail down or floating installation. They may also be floated over radiant heat systems. Engineered Wide Plank, Hand-Scraped, Antiqued & Brushed Floors Now Radiant Heat Approved
KENTWOOD Engineered Wide Plank, Engineered Hand-Scraped, Engineered Antiqued and Engineered Brushed floors are now approved for use over radiant heating systems, with the following conditions and exceptions:
- the floors must be installed in floating floor fashion
- all species are approved except Maple and Jatoba
- installation must be performed according to KENTWOOD Special Instructions for Installations Over Radiant Heat Systems (available here)
Care & Maintenance must be performed according to manufacturer’s written instructions for radiant heat approved products.
A reminder: most styles of KENTWOOD 10mm x 90mm Engineered Strip floors are also approved for use over radiant heat when installed with glue down.

This year’s collection of exclusive custom built homes is located in the new community of Quinn’s Crossing, and features a diverse mix of architecture and design styles making a perfect setting for the variety and quality of the Kentwood Collection. Hickory Pecan added to the Kentwood Collection
A North American classic comes to the Kentwood Collection! Hickory Pecan’s lively range of color and character make it a favourite choice for rustic interiors. Brushed Oak Arlington Now in 3 1/2’’
Brushed Oak Arlington is now available in the popular 3 1/2’’ board width. This unique oak flooring has been a big hit and the wider board width will make it even more popular.
Brushed Oak Arlington is a traditional strip solid hardwood flooring. The distinctive coloration is achieved by brushing the surface to expose natural grain patterns, staining the wood, sanding, then staining a second time with a lightly contrasting color. The result is a rich and rustic effect that emphasises the unique character of every board and gives the flooring a wonderfully aged appearance. Installation is nail down only, on or above grade.

Acacia: A Classic Hardwood
Judged by many people to be one of the most beautiful of all hardwoods, Acacia has exquisite natural color and grain patterns. Acacia also has a long history as a durable and versatile construction material. It is sure to become a classic addition to the Kentwood Collection. Beautiful New Hand-Scraped Options: Maple Chandler, Oak Ridgefield
Our hand-scraped floors are some of the most popular products in the Kentwood Collection, and now there are two unique new styles to choose from.
Maple Chandler is a deluxe engineered floor with an extra wide plank - the boards are over 6’’ wide. The maple wear layer is hand-scraped and stained to enhance the wood’s rich character and color.
Oak Ridgefield is milled in three different board widths, giving it an added dimension of rustic character to complement the hand-scraped surface and natural beauty of the lightly stained oak.
