KENTWOOD REVEALS COOL NEW RUNWAY AS LG FASHION WEEK OPENS SPRING SESSION

LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris kicked off its spring gala last night in Toronto. On the runway: previews of new fall fashions from leading Canadian designers and the debut of a new custom designed hardwood floor from Kentwood.

LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris, produced by the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC), is a week long bi-annual event showcasing the Canadian fashion industry. The 24th edition runs March 28 through April 1 at Heritage Court in Toronto’s Exhibition Place and will feature over forty live presentations of Fall 2011 fashion collections.

For its second appearance ‘on the runway’ at LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris, Kentwood worked closely with FDCC’s creative team to create a unique new flooring style that would provide the ultimate complement to the vibrant fashion creations that would be modelled upon it. The result was a cool white floor in wide plank oak with a softly brushed surface and subtle sheen.

While the runway is always the centre of attention at LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris, it has added presence at this event as it has been enlarged to fill the entire floor area, bringing the live audience closer to the action and providing designers with an expanded space in which to showcase their creations. “Everyone agrees it’s a stunning and spectacular floor,’ commented Kentwood’s Brady Page, “I think it makes a superb stage for the dynamism and colour of the live presentations. I look forward to seeing it in action throughout the week.”
