KENTWOOD PREPARES RUNWAY FOR SECOND APPEARANCE AT LG FASHION WEEK BEAUTY BY L’ORÉAL PARIS

As Canada’s leading designers work to complete their Fall 2011 Collections in time for LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris, the creative team at Kentwood is putting the finishing touches to a new custom-made hardwood runway, designed especially for the event. “It’s our second appearance at LG Fashion Week, and this time we had the opportunity to work more closely with the creative team at FDCC to create something really unique,” says Brady Page, Kentwood’s VP of marketing.

LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris, produced by the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC), is a bi-annual fashion event showcasing the work of Canada’s leading designers. The 24th edition will be held March 28 through April 1 at Heritage Court in Toronto’s Exhibition Place and will debut the Fall 2011 Collections of over a dozen of Canada’s leading design houses. This season’s theme is The Business of Fashion and emphasizes the industry’s intimate connections with the country’s economy as well as its culture.

Kentwood made its fashion week debut in October with a stunning runway designed in brushed oak. The innovative installation won praise from both the designers and audiences who attended the shows. For the upcoming event, a brand new hardwood flooring style has been developed that promises to present a dramatic yet sophisticated backdrop for the live fashion shows that are the essence of LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris.

"Once again, Kentwood have used their design and woodworking expertise to craft a one of a kind runway," says Executive Director of LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris Robin Kay. "Brady and his team at Kentwood have gone to great lengths, 2200 feet to be exact, to provide the best stage for our designers’ exposure."
