KENTWOOD COMMANDS RUNWAY AT TORONTO LG FASHION WEEK
As Canada’s emerging fashion designers prepare to unveil their new spring collections at the upcoming LG Fashion Week, staff at Kentwood are preparing for their own Fashion Week debut.
LG Fashion Week, produced by the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC), is a premium industry event showcasing the freshest in Canadian fashion. The bi-annual event includes a full week of themed events, industry parties, product presentations and of course, live fashion shows by some of Canada’s foremost designers. The Spring 2011 Collections will take place from October 18 – 23 at Heritage Court in Toronto’s Exhibition Place.
For the first time in fashion history, the principal runway will be constructed of Kentwood hardwood flooring, specially designed and installed on site for the occasion.
“After extensive consultation with FDCC,” says Brady Page, Kentwood’s VP of marketing, “Kentwood has come back with a runway rich in texture and warmth. Together we have designed a runway that will be as beautiful as it is practical. It will be a memorable and fitting stage for the designers’ latest creations.”
Kentwood’s technical supervisor will oversee the runway installation at Heritage Court and several Kentwood representatives will be on hand to see the runway officially open as activities commence Monday, October 18.
“Style and design are key components of our products at Kentwood, so it’s really exciting to see our flooring being used to complement the best and brightest in Canadian fashion design,” says Page, “We’re all looking forward to opening night with great anticipation.”
“It is the creative collaboration with corporate entities such as Kentwood,” says Robin Kay, Executive Director of LG Fashion Week, “That provide further endorsement to our fashion landscape. We applaud Kentwood for their innovation and exquisite attention to detail.”
